Keep moving!

The Speaking Club is an everyday initiative during which students can develop their language competences such as speaking and listening comprehension, while discussing important social, moral, ethical and educational topics, based on observation of the environment and emerging phenomena, or aimed at a better understanding of oneself and one's behaviour. This is an extraordinary opportunity to develop the ability to speak freely in a foreign language, but also to expand vocabulary, as well as the ability to express opinions, emotions and thoughts on topics that are important to all of us. Last Wednesday, during the meeting, we were joined by Marquis Williams, a guest from the United States of America, currently living in Turkey. During the meeting, we discussed important social, cultural and other issues valuable from the perspective of a young person, in the clash with the views of a person from a different socio-cultural circle. This unique meeting allowed students to confront their views and ideas, but above all it enabled a valuable exposure to Native English and gave the opportunity not only to develop the language, but also to make an independent assessment of their own level of language competence.
